Herbal Beauty Tips

Natural ingredients have been used for thousands of years to enhance beauty. Ancient Romans and Greeks beautified themselves by taking lush baths in lavender water. Aloe Vera gel was used in ancient Egypt as a skin healing and soothing agent. If it worked then, it can work now. Let’s take a look at some simple beauty tips using herbs and other natural ingredients.

1. You can remove an unwanted tan by simply rubbing a slice of potato on your skin. The tan comes right off if this is done regularly. A honey face mask also helps sooth skin after a sun burn or tan. Mix a tablespoon of honey with a teaspoon of lemon juice and milk. Apply this all over your face and neck. Don’t ignore your arms if the tan has affected them too. Wash off after fifteen to twenty minutes. Not only will it drastically reduce you tan but it will leave your skin feeling baby-soft and fresh.

2. Did you know that green tea served more purpose than just tasting lovely? Green tea contains the highest concentration of antioxidants. These will help you flush out all those toxins in your body. Drinking green tea is highly recommended if you are trying to lose those extra pounds. You can also use green tea residue as a refreshing face mask by cooling it in the fridge for a while and then applying to your face.

3. Honey and rosewater can help your eyes look beautiful. Who knew? Putting a drop of honey in your eyes can sting a little, but will leave your eyes noticeably white and clear. Rosewater is an excellent remedy for soothing sore eyes. Just cool some in the fridge and drop into your eyes.  Spraying rosewater on your face can also be very refreshing for your skin.

4.
Eucalyptus does wonders for your skin and respiratory system. Pluck some fresh leaves off a eucalyptus tree and boil these. Get this off the stove and cover your head with a towel on top of the pot so that steam isn’t able to escape. Don’t scald yourself. Make sure the steam is hot enough to handle. This magic trick is like a spa at home. The pores in your skin can be unclogged, leaving you with a radiant, clear complexion. This remedy is excellent for blackheads. You can also replace the eucalyptus leaves with fresh mint leaves. Make sure to tone your skin post steam treatment to ensure that your pores close. You can use a homemade toner too.  Get a fresh slice of tomato and rub it on your face. This serves as a natural toner. Nature never disappoints you.
